          FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 4th 2008

          HONOLULU, HAWAII State representative Tom Brower (District 23 – Waikiki, Ala Moana,
          Kakaako) announced today that he has launched an Oahu-wide survey on four important, at
          times divisive, issues that lawmakers face.

          Over the next 6 days, his automated telephone poll will contact registered voters on Oahu,
          inviting them to participate in the survey. This is the first in a series of polls that will contact over
          55,000 registered voters on Oahu throughout 2008.

  The four questions are:

  1) Tax Rebate – if there was a $100 tax rebate this year, would they want the money back or want
  the state keep the money for construction and repairs;

  2) Death with Dignity – whether terminally ill residents should be legally allowed to die with
  physician assistance;

  3) Civil Unions – whether Hawaii should legally recognize civil union partnerships; and

  4) Rail Transit – do Oahu residents favor a rail transit system?

  "Technology has made it easier for people to participate in the democratic process," said Rep. Brower.
  "Everyone, not just people testifying at the Capitol, should have access to lawmakers to tell them
  what they really think about issues.

          SPECIFICS OF THE PHONE POLL:

          - A pre-recorded message by Brower, identifies to the person who answers the phone that he is a legislator.

          - Calls are made to all Oahu State House districts in a random order.

          - If there is no answer, the next random phone number is dialed.

          - If an answering machine is received, a pre-recorded message by Brower is left, informing the household about the
          option of going on-line to take the poll. If that home's phone number is entered on-line, to take the phone poll, the
          results will be counted in the "Phone Poll" portion of the on-line survey.

          SPECIFICS OF THE INTERNET POLL

          - The on-line, "internet portion" of the poll can be taken by anyone with a computer, theoretically, anywhere in the world.

          - If someone goes on the Web and randomly takes the internet portion of the poll, a procedure is in place to only
          allow the poll to be taken only once, by a specific computer, to reduce the margin of error or "fraud."
